Paul Larsen – Managing Partner
Paul founded PLC in 2004. He has more than 30 years of experience in the Direct Marketing industry. Prior to consulting, Mr. Larsen held a number of Fulfillment and Operations positions at Reader’s Digest and, ultimately, honed his payment processing skills in his decade-long stint as Director of Operations for Synapse Group, Inc., one of the world’s largest magazine subscription companies. Paul is also a past Chairman of both the Direct Response Forum and the Payment Processors Association and presents regularly at conferences such as the DRF, DMA and Marketing Sherpa. John Sullivan – Partner
With more than 20 years’ experience in the credit card industry, John brings a strong expertise in a wide range of topics, particularly in data-driven, long-term strategic planning. John joined as a partner in 2008 and has been at the forefront of the robust analytical consulting services Paul Larsen Consulting offers its clients.
Prior to joining Paul Larsen Consulting, John was an Executive Director for The Synapse Group, a marketing division of Time Inc., the nation’s largest agency seller of continuous service subscription magazines, with annual revenues consistently topping $350MM, where he led the corporate Financial Planning & Analysis Division. While in that position, John was able to refine marketing strategies, provide detailed financial analysis / reporting and improve upon processing efficiencies. Melanie Stout – VP of Client Success
Melanie Stout serves as VP of Client Success at Paul Larsen Consulting LLC, and works with card-not-present, recurring revenue merchants to increase the lifetime value of their customers. Melanie and Paul have a long history, having worked together initially at Synapse Group almost 20 years ago, blazing the trail for continuous service magazine subscriptions. After Synapse Group, Melanie successfully built and launched the first direct-to-consumer recurring revenue stream as Director of Marketing at WebMD.com. Prior to PLC, Melanie was the Vice President of Marketing and Communications for a SaaS-based healthcare IT company. With PLC, she has combined her knowledge of the subscription economy with B2C, B2B and B2P marketing, and has helped companies of all sizes optimize their payments and increase lifetime value of their consumers.
